Penang HanWang Forum 2025
The opening video for Penang Han Wang Forum 2025 was crafted through a combination of paper structure art and stop-motion animation, transforming delicate handmade materials into a powerful visual narrative. Each scene was carefully built layer by layer using paper elements, then animated frame by frame to create a poetic and immersive storytelling experience. The film tells the story of a world gradually destroyed by human greed, conflict, uncontrolled industrialisation, and environmental neglect. Cities collapse, nature fades, and balance is lost as the consequences of human actions unfold visually through crafted paper landscapes. As the narrative progresses, hope begins to emerge. Through the actions of those who care—individuals driven by compassion, responsibility, and collective awareness—the world is slowly rebuilt. Nature returns, harmony is restored, and new possibilities are formed. The use of paper as a medium symbolises fragility, humanity, and the possibility of reconstruction: even after destruction, something meaningful can be rebuilt with care, patience, and imagination. The stop-motion technique enhances this message by giving life to each handmade element, reflecting the importance of every small action in shaping a better future. This project stands as both an artistic statement and a reminder that the future of our world depends on the choices we make today.
